Qantas will lock out all its employees covered by the agreements that are currently in dispute. And it has grounded its entire domestic and international fleets indefinitely. This move will effect 1.310 travelers waiting to board flights around the world and a further 13.305 bookings.
The airline will offer hotel accommodation and alternative flights to those who are mid-journey and cannot get home when the grounding takes effect. Customers are advised not to travel to the airport.
Customers travelling within the next 24 hours should call Qantas Contact Centres on 13 13 13 or local Qantas Office to discuss alternatives. Those travelling in the next few days/weeks should monitor the situation on qantas.com. Travelers are advised not change bookings until closer to the date of departure.
QantasLink, Jetstar, Jetconnect services, and reight services (Express Freighters Australia and Atlas) will continue to operate as normal.
