Book ahead for the end of the world

If the world does end December next year, millions of people are planning a trip to Mexico, to be closer to the former Mayan empire that predicted everything.  More than 52 million people are expected to visit the Quintana Roo (where Cancun is), Yucatan, Chiapas, Tabasco and Campeche regions. In an average year the whole of Mexico only gets 22 million tourists.

Mayan Long Count calendar, which started in 3114 BC and marks time in roughly 394-year periods known as Baktuns, with the 13th Baktun ending on December 21, 2012, the same date a stone tablet, discovered at the archaeological site of Tortuguero in Tabasco, describes the return of a Mayan god.
